◄Where are you located?

We create our belts from start to finish in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, where artisan Jesse Bateson works from his studio near the beautiful Otonabee River.

◄Where can I buy a Solid Leather belt?

We currently sell our belts exclusively through our online store, but you’ll soon find Solid Leather products in select local fashion boutiques. Be the first to know about our new retail locations by signing up for our mailing list.

◄How are your belts made?

From design templates to the polished product, Artisan Jesse Bateson carefully handcrafts each Solid Leather belt. Once cut from premium steer hide, we apply a special blend of oils and dyes that create a uniform colour and rich patina. Next, we burnish the edges for a clean, lasting finish and apply a topcoat, sealing and protecting the leather. Lastly, each belt is completed with a premium buckle and hand stitching.

At Solid Leather, we believe a leather belt should last a lifetime. That’s why we guarantee our belts for life: if your belt no longer functions, we’ll repair or replace it free of charge. Contact us if you have any questions about your Solid Leather belt.

◄What size belt should I order?

Because we want your Solid Leather belt to fit perfectly, we’ve developed a dedicated sizing page with detailed instructions for choosing the right-sized belt: Size Guide.

◄What happens if I get skinnier?

No problem! You can either head to your local shoe repair shop and have a new hole punched, DIY with this great punch available through our online store [Coming Soon], or take advantage of our free returns (in Canada only) and we’ll happily re-size your belt.

◄Do you sell only men’s leather belts? What about the ladies?

Though we design our belts with men in mind, we encourage everyone to enjoy our products: If the belt fits, wear it!

◄Why should “leather match leather?”

atching both the colour and formality of your leatherwear will improve your style. Matching colour is easy: wear black with black, brown with brown, and tan with tan. Matching formality is a little more subtle but equally important. Just as a tan belt can look out of place with black shoes, an ultra-casual pair of brown suede loafers doesn’t pair well with an equally brown but much dressier slim leather belt. Similarly, your finely polished oxfords could do without that great big belt buckle.

Product Details and Care Instructions

▼What type of leather do you use?

Each belt is cut from premium steer-hide from Herman Oak tannery, a well-known and trusted North American tannery. All of our hides are veg tanned for over a month, ensuring minimal stretch and strong, long-lasting products.

◄What about the other materials?

We focus on quality from start to finish, so we pay attention to every detail. We hand stitch with high-tension nylon cord with a 35-pound breaking point to ensure seam durability. With the environment and your health in mind, we use eco-friendly dyes with a special blend of natural oils and spirits.

◄Can you do customize colours?

We love creating custom colours to match your other leatherwear. If our standard colours don’t quite match your favourite shoes (think of those bright red sneakers or grey-and-black-lined brogues), we’ll work with you to find the perfect shade. Contact us for more information.

◄Can I use my own buckle?

Absolutely! We want your Solid Leather belt to perfectly suit your style. If you’d like to use your own buckle, contact us for measurement instructions and styling options.

◄How should I care for my Solid Leather Belt?

A little love can go a long way. Occasionally (once a year is enough) applying leather conditioner, which will help keep your belt soft and supple for years to come.

Shipping

◄When will I get my order?

Because each belt is made to order, shipping estimates include design and fabrication time. Typically, for Canadian customers, your belt should arrive within 10-15 business days once your order is finalized. We cannot guarantee delivery times for international orders as customs processes vary; however, your belt will ship out in one week from order confirmation, and we’ll send you shipping information so you can track your order. If you haven’t received your belt within 45 days, please Contact us at and we’ll make sure it’s still on its way.

◄Can I get my belt sooner?

If you need your new Solid Leather belt for that up coming special occasion, contact us and we’ll do our best to get your belt to you on time! Note that if we need to use a faster courier service, additional charges will apply.

◄How much does shipping cost?

We offer free standard shipping anywhere within Canada. For faster delivery, additional charges will apply. We also ship internationally at additional cost—find out more here.

◄Do you ship internationally?

We do! We want everyone to enjoy Solid Leather belts, so we make international ordering as easy as possible. International shipping rates are calculated and payable upon checkout, but note that your local government may also charge tax and/or duty fees. We’ll send you a tracking number once we ship your order so that you can follow your item as it travels to your door.

◄My tracking number isn’t working. What should I do?

New tracking numbers may take up to 24 hours to activate from the time you receive your shipping confirmation. If it's been more than 24 hours and your tracking number still isn't working, email us at and we'll check on your order.

◄I haven’t received my belt yet. Who should I contact?

From the time we confirm your order, production and shipping take 10-12 business days in Canada and up to 45 days internationally. If it’s been longer, please contact us and we’ll make sure your order is safely on its way.

We have lifetime 100% satisfaction guarantee. We want you to love your Solid Leather belt whether you’ve just received it or if you’ve had it for a while—if it doesn't meet your expectations or no longer performs as it should: we’ll repair or replace it free of charge.
