We create our belts from start to finish in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, where artisan Jesse Bateson works from his studio near the beautiful Otonabee River.

Every belt and wallet is cut, stitched and finished by hand in my workshop in Peterborough, Ontario. The leather comes from Hermann Oak in St. Louis, a tannery that's been running since 1881 or Wickett & Craig out of Pennsylvania (sadly there are no Canadian tanneries or I would use those, though Wickett & Craig started in Toronto in 1867 they moved to the States in 1989)

Buckles are produced over seas with a focus on strength & style.

Online is best, easiest and fastest. Otherwise I do 2 trade shows a year in Toronto (Royal Winter Fair and One Of A Kind Winter) were you can get an in person fitting. Or come see me at my workshop in Peterborough Ontario.

From design templates to the polished product, Artisan Jesse Bateson carefully handcrafts each Solid Leather belt. Once cut from premium steer hide, we apply a special blend of oils and dyes that create a uniform colour and rich patina. Next, we burnish the edges for a clean, lasting finish and apply a topcoat, sealing and protecting the leather. Lastly, each belt is completed with a premium buckle and hand stitching.

Because we want your Solid Leather belt to fit perfectly, we’ve developed a dedicated sizing page with detailed instructions for choosing the right-sized belt: Size Guide. 

No! Most brands measure their belts differently, which is why they tell you to add two inches. Order your actual pant size and it will fit. If you're between sizes, some pants fit like a 34, some like a 36, order the 35. Holes are spaced three-quarters of an inch apart instead of the usual 1 inch, so you get a closer fit than you're used to. Still unsure? Ask me before you order. Takes thirty seconds and saves you a return.

No problem! You can either head to your local shoe repair shop and have a new hole punched, DIY with this great punch available through our online store [Coming Soon], or take advantage of our free returns (in Canada only) and we’ll happily re-size your belt.

Matching both the colour and formality of your leatherwear will improve your style. Matching colour is easy: wear black with black, brown with brown, and tan with tan. Matching formality is a little more subtle but equally important. Just as a tan belt can look out of place with black shoes, an ultra-casual pair of brown suede loafers doesn’t pair well with an equally brown but much dressier slim leather belt. Similarly, your finely polished oxfords could do without that great big belt buckle.

The Slim holds up to 8 cards in two card slots, no bulk. The Everyday is a bifold wallet with three slots, holds up to 12 cards, and is the one most guys pick. The Legacy has four slots, holding up to 16 cards, and a full metal money clip. All three are cut from the same full-grain leather as the belts.

Yes. Every Solid Leather wallet comes in the same five colours as the belts. Black, Deep Brown, Cognac Brown, Tan, and Burgundy. Cut from the same hide and finished the same way. They'll darken & patina at the same rate as they age.

The Slim is built for it. The Everyday works in most front pockets and sits flat in a back pocket. The Legacy is the fullest of the three and still can be carried in front or back pocket with minimal bulk.

Yes. Same as the belts, add monogramming on the product page and we'll stamp it before it ships. It doesn't change the build time.

Same as a belt. Orders go out every Friday, so 10–15 business days to your door.

Same as the belts. The fact that you are using something I made with my hands is amazing to me so I want you using it. If it stops doing its job, I'll repair it or replace it. No fee, no expiry.

Each belt is cut from premium steer-hide from Hermann Oak tannery, a well-known and trusted North American tannery. All of our hides are veg tanned for over a month, ensuring minimal stretch and strong, long-lasting products.

It will mould to you, not stretch out. Think of it like new jeans, they are a little tight at first but as the fibers relax they lossen up. Same for your belt it just takes a lot longer. Full-grain leather conforms to your body over time and use. The more you use it the better it fits.

Stretched out too much or lost some weight? Just get it back to me and I can readjust it from the buckle end to bring you back to center.

We focus on quality from start to finish, so we pay attention to every detail. We hand stitch with high-tension nylon cord with a 35-pound breaking point to ensure seam durability. With the environment and your health in mind, we use eco-friendly dyes with a special blend of natural oils and spirits.

Buckles are hand stitched on. A saddle stitch outlasts rivets and snaps, don't get me wrong, those will last, just not as long.

That said, if you want a removable buckle, for a trophy or cowboy buckle you already own, I'm happy to accommodate. I use Chicago screws for those. They're more solid than snaps and easy to replace if you ever lose one. Just get in touch before you order and we'll sort it out.

A little love can go a long way. Occasionally (once a year is enough) apply leather conditioner, which will help keep your leather belt or wallet soft and supple for years to come.

Everything is made to order, so shipping estimates include build time. Orders go out every Friday, and delivery runs 2–5 business days from there, so expect 10–15 business days from order to doorstep within Canada and the USA. Wallets are the same.

International orders ship on the same Friday schedule, but customs timing varies and we can't guarantee a delivery date. You'll get a tracking number either way. If it's been more than 45 days, contact us and we'll chase it down.

We do! We want everyone to enjoy Solid Leather belts, so we make international ordering as easy as possible. International shipping rates are calculated and payable upon checkout, but note that your local government may also charge tax and/or duty fees. We’ll send you a tracking number once we ship your order so that you can follow your item as it travels to your door.

New tracking numbers may take up to 24 hours to activate from the time you receive your shipping confirmation. If it's been more than 24 hours and your tracking number still isn't working, email us at and we'll check on your order.

Orders ship every Friday and take 10–15 business days in Canada and the USA, up to 45 days internationally. If it's been longer than that, contact us and we'll make sure it's on its way.
